COUNTRY SPOTLIGHT:
“DK Davis"

“I Fought The Law (And the Law Won),” “Suspicion,” “Suspicious Minds,” “Return To Sender” are only a few of the hit songs from DK Davis. Now, to add to that long list of hits, DK Davis has released “In Your Arms Again.” A featured song on IMN’s syndicated radio show, it is heading to the top of the charts at a rapid pace. IMN caught up with DK to give you a little insight on the man behind the music.
Q: Your current hit single is "In My Arms Again." Why did you choose that song?
DK: I really love the song. It is well written and has a great melody. The song was written by a dear friend , Del Shannon. He wrote the song in 1985 and recorded it when he was on Warner Brothers Records. It charted at #50 and stopped there when he was dropped from the label. It was a record that was not given the support it should have. This is my version and is my way of giving tribute to my friend. Del passed away suddenly in 1990.
Q: Why do you call your company Route 66 Entertainment?
DK: I record songs that are old and new. I just thought it was a COOL name for a label.
Q: If you could spend time with one artist (living or dead) who would it be and what would you like to ask the artist?
DK: I would like to spend time talking to Tom Jones. Truthfully I would like to ask him if I could produce a record on him, and ask him what does it feel like to be the voice of a generation.
Q: What artist would you love to do a duet with?
DK: Tom Jones. He has a great voice and it would be a BLAST working with him.
Q: What is the one thing you would like your fans to know about you?
DK: I thank GOD for giving me a voice to sing along with all my friends. I love performing for each and everyone.

MAINSTREAM SPOTLIGHT:
Stephen Lee
LA based singer Stephen Lee explores "Online" connections with debut single. But there is a lot more to the Stephen Lee story. Read on.
Independent singer/songwriter Stephen Lee may be old school, but his first single from his upcoming CD Old School. Reborn, shows that he knows how to connect to listening audiences the new school way.
“Online” is an upbeat, catchy dance single that can make both baby boomers and millennials shake their moneymakers. It’s a song that laments the lack of personal connection and touch when dating in the world of new media. It may be a technological roll call, but relevant in these times.
“The story behind ‘Online’ is simple,” states Stephen Lee. “I was really fed up with people saying: ‘Hey, hit me up on FB.’ So, in a sense, I was a bit frustrated/irritated with the whole social networking aspect of communicating with people. And whala! ‘Online‘ was born.”
In the song, Lee observes:
I just wanna spend some time / I’m not really into talking online, I’m not really into instant messenger, /A little bit of contact is what I prefer
But I guess I’ll / Connect on MySpace / Friend you on Facebook / I guess I’ll text you / Watch you on YouYube / Online, online
A skilled songwriter and storyteller and multi-instrumentalist, Stephen Lee is back in the music game after a health-based hiatus. After dealing with Type 1 diabetes for many years, Stephen was diagnosed in 2007 with a chronic heart condition that eventually led to heart surgery. The experience has only emboldened him to make the most of his music career. From those dark days comes the soulful Old School. Reborn this Fall.
Stay tuned. There is much more to come from this talented man.
